In the past few days, we have been under DDOS attack. This DDOS attack was caused by Iranian government websites (such as Fars News) embedding links in the form of
http://www.pagereboot.com/?url=http://balatarin.com&refresh=30
in their pages (in the form of iframe). When a visitor goes to Fars News website, they start sending hundreds of queries to balatarin in the background without their own knowledge. This results in the slow down of Balatarin and sometime in complete crash of the website.
Balatarin was not the only website that was targeted using pagereboot. Several of Mousavi’s websites including ghalamnews were targeted by Iranian government using Pagereboot tool.
The primary responsible parties are the Iranian government websites such as Fars News who embedded pagereboot in their pages. However Pageroot writer who set up the pagereboot is also responsible for this too. He could have easily monitored the traffic and added exceptions to his software to prevent attacks on independent websites such as Balatarin. He could also have checked for the “referrer” to make sure pagereboot is not embedded in other websites. At this crucial time, with the slow internet connection to Iran and lack of resources for the independent websites, PageReboot has caused a lot of damage. We have already notified them regarding the attacks but they have not taken any actions to prevent attacks on our website.
We have asked Balatarin users to make calls to all the contacts listed on pagereboot website. Under Britain law where pagereboot is located, launching DDOS attacks are illegal and can result in fine or prison.
Technical note: It is very difficult for us to fight against such DDOS attacks. When we ban attacking ips, we are actually banning the innocent visitors who are reading news on the Iranian government news agencies and have no intention of attacking Balatarin. They are not aware of the tricks used by Iranian government’s news websites to attack other sites. These visitors lose their future access to Balatarin. Also, since some of them are accessing balatarin using proxies in Iran, their entire proxy server loses access to Balatarin. We have banned several hundred ips just today. This has seriously affected the access of our own users to the website.
We have talked to one network security expert, and he believed it would be very difficult to distinguish good guys from bad guys in this case because people are fooled to attack other sites without them knowing.
PS. Thanks to Balatarin users who also called pagereboot and followed up, Pagereboot has taken down their service and has apologized for the problems caused.
Supreme leader’s order to recount the votes will not have any significant effects on elections results, but demonstrates how strong the influence of our protest is and how fragile the regime in Iran is at the moment.

The pro-militia groups -armed with gun and tear gas- attacked the university of Tehran student campus known as “Kooye Dneshgah” which left 15 students deeply injured.
The gathering of students had been started in the early hours of Sunday, June the 15th. It seems that the situation is moving forward to an uneven battle after the gun armed pro-militia groups entered the campus.

As our brothers and sisters in Iran are being subjected to bloody assaults in the streets, all Iranians wherever they are in the world must now transmit the message of Iranians to the ears of people around the globe and disseminate the news of their movement. First of all they can express their opposition to these liars and tricksters by gathering in front of Iranian embassies around the world. Secondly by doing this they must prevent foreign countries, and especially the USA and European countries, from officially recognizing these results—because the first wish of anyone staging a coup d’état is to be officially recognized by other countries. Friends should especially pay attention to the fact that in the current circumstances under which the USA is attempting to reach out to Iran, it is possible that those responsible for the coup imagine that the US, as a country influential throughout the world, especially after Obama’s coming to office, has a very important and key role to play. Therefore we request that all dear Iranians throughout the world take advantage of whatever opportunity is in their power and help their brothers and sisters in Iran. Tomorrow is too late…
God are you there? , Do you also not know what to do now?
Have you seen what has happened? Have you seen the huge mistake you have made?
The actual Devil is not Satan, these are the real devils, your creations. Those who see themselves higher than you are placed. How do you bear with them? Your patient is unbelievable.
Dear God, have you seen how they have put you down? How they have put your greatness under question? How they have made the impossible possible?
How they are not even a bit embarrassed or scared from their shameful acts?

Seyed Mohammad Ali Abtahi, former assistant of Mr. Khatami and currently advisor to Mehdi Karoobi, was arrested this morning. We will wait for his release to put his new texts on his web site.
The above narration is from Mr. Abtahi’s web log. The arrest of Abtahi is a sign that the wave of arrests will get worse. It is obvious that regime wants to make people silent with force. How can we broadcast our voice to regime’s ear? In my opinion if the same millions of people who took attention of the world by their Voice of Silence demonstration, participate (even if part of it) in Joma prayers and ask with loud voice for taking back their votes, regime can not repress or bit them as previous times.
Joma prayer is a chance that regime leader can hear voice of people directly…. Let’s make a new record in the number of people participating in Joma prayers at least once.
Very urgent and very important:
- People should be aware of traps and do not fall for pre-planned conflicts
- The government is responsible for any consequence of lack of this headquarter access to media
Ghalam: Mir Hossein Moussavi’s headquarter in an announcement confirmed that he will not be attending today’s rally in ValiAsr street while asking people to be aware of the pre-planned rioting traps.

Mr. Ahmadinejad, Former hateful president of Iran, I, as a homosexual Iranian, an Iranian citizen, and someone seeking changes with regards to people rights, regardless to their sexuality, ethnicity and ideology, voted with all my fellow country men and women who are frustrated by you and your government’s dictatorship, after waiting in long lines formed by many Iranian mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, with high hopes to oust you from the presidency position.

“Gonahkar: I can’t fall asleep”
I can’t fall asleep. I’m worried for those (college) students that got attacked in their sleep. They made once again a bloody mess out of the university (dormitories). In Tehran. In Isfahan.
